Sports Dogs
Dogs that take part in sports such as agility, flyball, cani-cross, obedience, and gun dog trials can pick up injuries from the fast paces, fast acceleration or deceleration, quick turns and twists that are a part of their sport.
These injuries may not necessarily be evident at first and therefore go unnoticed as dogs are very good at hiding them. However, you may notice a change in their performance levels, such as:
Agility Dogs

Pole knocking, weave and/or contact issues, lack of drive.
Gun Dogs

Early on set fatigue, retrieval issues.
Cani-cross

Early onset fatigue, reluctance to wear a harness, not pulling.

Obedience

Change in work positions e.g.; down stay/send away
Flyball

Turning wide on box, missing/avoiding jumps.
All disciplines

Any deviation from natural performance.
Senior Dogs

As dogs get older they begin to show signs of the wear and tear that their bodies have sustained throughout their lives. They may have developed orthopaedic conditions or their muscles have become sore and weak with less activity...
